The Muslim festival of Eid al-Fitr, also known as the Sugar Feast, is one of the most important religious holidays in Islam. It takes place at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan and marks the end of the fasting period. The exact date of the Sugar Feast depends on the Islamic calendar, which is based on the lunar cycle.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast during the day and abstain from food, drink, smoking, and other worldly pleasures. Eid al-Fitr (the Festival of Breaking the Fast) is an opportunity for Muslims to celebrate the end of the fasting month and rejoice in fulfilling their religious obligations.

Traditionally, Eid al-Fitr begins on the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal and usually lasts three days. The celebrations include prayer at the mosque, visiting friends and family, and exchanging gifts. It is also customary for Muslims to give a special donation, known as Zakat al-Fitr, on this day to help those in need.

In many countries, traditional dishes are prepared for Eid al-Fitr, and the celebrations may include music and dancing. However, the focus of the festival is on the exchange of joy and kindness, and the gathering of family and friends to celebrate the significance of the month of fasting and the fulfillment of religious obligations.

During Eid al-Fitr, it is customary to distribute gifts to family, friends, and community members to express joy and gratitude for fulfilling the fast and spiritual purification.

The types of gifts given during Eid al-Fitr vary from culture to culture and region to region. In some countries, traditional sweets and pastries such as baklava, chocolates, or cookies are given, while in others, gifts of money or clothing are common.

It is also common for children to receive gifts such as toys or books during Eid al-Fitr to share in the joy of the celebration. Many families also organize special outings and activities for their children to make the festivities even more special.

In Europe, it has become common practice to give flowers as gifts for Eid al-Fitr, even though in some Islamic countries they are actually associated with funerals and mourning. Magic Flowers has a special selection of flowers for Eid al-Fitr.
